5 Tips to prolong your summer glow!

The final days of summer are upon us: Coverups are replaced by culottes, sun hats swapped for beanies, and lightweight serums are moved to the back of our medicine cabinets to make way for fall’s heavier formulas. But the impending shorter days don’t mean we have to abandon our just-back-from-vacation skin.

So here is a few tips on how to maintain that vacation glow:

  1. Moisturise
    Moisturising is key to a healthy and long-lasting tan, to ensure skin remains hydrated and smooth. The face is the first area where tans usually fade, so remember to use a good quality face moisturiser as well as a body lotion.

  2. Go Easy On The Hot Water
    Did you know long hot baths and showers can dehydrate your skin, so stick to cool water 

  3. Exfoliate Very Gently Indeed
    Yes, you still need to exfoliate - dead skill cells can actually make the skin look duller and less glowy - but do so very carefully to avoid scrubbing away your tan.

  4. Drink Lots Of Water
    Staying hydrated is essential for good skin health, cell turnover and everything else associated with keeping a radiant, golden glow.

  5. "Enhance" It
    Gradual tan is much easier to apply when you already have a tan - the danger of starkly orange elbows and knees is lesser when your skin already has a glow to it. Choose bright nail polish too to offset a golden glow. And wear white. Lots of it.
